The load status is very important. it gives you indications of what part of the life cycle, a load it is currently in.

Trucking has seven possible status'

  • Available ->(system assigned) only a nEW load or a load where UNIT # has been removed- load with NO TRK  # YET.
  • Assigned ->(system assigned) happens when YOU assign a unit #  to a load
  • Dispatched -> (user assigned)  this has to be done via the dispatch screen on each load
  • Loaded -> (user assigned) OPTIONAL use this if you want to have MORE then just 'Dispatched' for loaded status
  • Docked -> (user assigned) OPTIONAL use this if you unload the freight to a DOCK or cross dock.
  • Empty -> (user assigned) once a load is physically EMPTY, change the status(must be dispatched, loaded to allow change) CALCS DRV PAY, if on
  • Closed -> (user assigned)  leave a load as EMPTY, until paperwork comes in. then Close. this way you always know whats walking around in someones pocket :)

so basically the USER has to

  • mark each load as DISPATCHED (automatic check call entered)
  • mark each load EMPTY (does drv pay) + (automatic check call entered)
  • Mark as CLOSED when paperwork comes in.

the loadboard only displays ACTIVE loads. Loads that are available, assigned, dispatched, loaded.

Empty and Closed can be displayed if you select them from filter drop down.

your 'Load count' at bottom of dispatch form will reflect the number of LOADS in the currently selected filter status. when status = NORMAL. its best to only have real current loads, not old loads from past that no one took time to mark as empty or closed.
you can return any load to AVAILABLE by simply removing the TRUCK number form the dispatch screen. there is a utility menu item to remove BOTH trk and trl from a load.

**also there is a UTILITY MENU item to 'Close EMPTY loads'->this will automatically close ALL loads with a status of EMPTY
